Review # 1 was written on 2009-05-14 00:00:00 Andrew Fulton I read this book years ago and found its premise to be valid. Everyone agrees that mercury is toxic. When dentists remove it from patients they treat it as hazardous waste. So the only question is: does it leak out of tooth fillings into the body? Dr. Huggins argues that it does and his arguments are sound science. The toxicity of mercury fillings, root canals, and cavitations has been established beyond reasonable doubt. All that remains is for patients and dentists to accept the facts.

Huggins is a complete quack and conspiracy theorist, who doesn't understand the scientific method. The book purports to show how dangerous the mercury amalgam fillings that dentists put in our mouths are, but it really does nothing of the sort. I was told to read this book before taking my children to see a dentist for the first time so that I could protect my children, but Huggins' ideas are ridiculously off-the-wall. Don't bother reading this, you won't learn a thing.
