Review # 1 was written on 2019-10-16 00:00:00 Daniel Ramirez This man is amazing. Look at his photography. Its the world of the 50s to 80s in no other way. Before the "perfect" clear defineable BORING photo that seems to be all about techno-fetish in the 2000's. His motto was "show who you are". I think that's all there is left really. Or to show it in parts, which is what photography can do... |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-05-21 00:00:00 Bryan Kirkpatrick This is a small book, very simple. One photo per double truck with just a title. Yet, it is the right pace, with commendable reproductions for a small paperback book. All the text is in French, so pouvoir lire le français. Davidson's use of black and white is remarkable. His rich darks set off a bright area in nearly every photo that highlights a truth. Every composition seems to avoid tradition, setting himself off at an angle so objects are distorted, background lines are slanted. Personally I find his work inspiring. |
