Review: Choice Reviews - Reference Type: Almanac DDC: 094 Content Scope: The almanac covers politics in each state of the United States. It give a profile of people involved in government at the national and state levels. The almanac releases an update every two years. Accuracy, Authority, Bias: This book, and its updates, have been extensively reviewed in both scholarly journals and popular media. It contains accurate and up to date information in current editions. Arrangement and Presentation: The information in the almanac is presented in alphabetical order by state. Relation to similar works: There is not another resource in the collection which provides the same information. Timeliness and permanence: The fact that this resource is updated every two years due to new election date makes it very current for students doing research. The permanence, however, is a problem in that the book will become outdated after each election. Accessibility and Diversity: This reference book covers information from every state. It is written at a level which would be appropriate for upper elementary students doing research. Cost: $88.11 for 2014 current edition, 2006 edition is $85.45 |
