Review # 1 was written on 2010-07-06 00:00:00 Matthew Chapman I picked this up at the Barnes and Noble (or was it Borders?) store in Evanston, Illinois one late afternoon after work. Someone had given me a gift card for Christmas. Although just a collection of diverse essays published over decades in a variety of books and periodicals, I found many of the pieces to be informative and all of them to be quite entertaining, fringe science and occultism being fascinating. |
Review # 2 was written on 2012-12-20 00:00:00 Sandra Alvarez The author explores a variety of false beliefs that people cling to starting with ancient Egyptians. He also explores the development of science and technology and how non scientists manage to cling to old beliefs or twist and add to new discoveries some sort of fiction. He discusses that some scientists also indulge in distortion of the facts. |
