Review # 1 was written on 2019-06-04 00:00:00 Krolpromise Promise This little book offers readings and prayers 'to deepen and enrich' Eucharistic Adoration, which has grown since St Fracis' 13th century. The prayers are both traditional and modern. And these useful pages are not just for usual solitary visits, but also has stuff for before and after Mass, Eucharistic procession, and 'visiting' from a distance (when you can't go to visit a church due to too much distance, being sick, closed church etc.). The author recommends that we use these prayers slowly and in meditative manner, so we get more benefit out of them. Some of the prayers were familiar to me, but many were not. I liked how all texts were short or shortish, so easy to use, and perhaps even memorize. At the end are firstly ways in which these visits can be considered to have indulgences, and then there's two litanies to use (I really like litanies, and these two are among the best I've read). This book delivers what is needed, and keeps things short, and is easy to carry. If you're interested in practicing this devotion, this is a very useful kind of a book.
