Review # 1 was written on 2017-06-30 00:00:00 Ed Pronovost This is a great review book on accounting and finance. It is not as basic beginner material as the title suggest. I like all it covered all aspects of accounting/finance, including financial statements, financial ratios, budgets, cost accounting, managing cash, collections, inventories, extending credits, taxes, capital, and even macroeconomics! Even if you're not working in an area related to accounting/finance, I think these are all essential knowledge everyone who is interest in business should know. Favorite Quote: "We've been programmed to believe that borrowing money -and debt in general- is a bad thing. But what if you knew you could borrow money at, say, 2 percent and turn around and invest it at a 5 percent rate of return? You'd borrow it, right? Of course you would. That's because there are strategic reasons to seek financing." (P. 181)

Review # 2 was written on 2015-06-04 00:00:00 Gerald Pels I can no longer say I am clueless about accounting and finance. Will I be able to make a career of it? Probably not. But at least I can understand what is going on a bit better, which is exactly what one would expect from a book with this title.
