Good history. Focus is on people, mostly the movers and shakers.

As part of my job, I had the opportunity to travel extensively through the Crooked River Country of Oregon and have often wondered about its history and the people who influenced it (other than Les Schwab). After reading this book, one can easily see that Tombstone and Dodge City don't have anything on Prineville. Indian fights, vigilantes, lynchings, and range wars are all part of area's story. I was particularly interested in the history of the area's timber and livestock industries - completely different than what is going on today.
