Review # 1 was written on 2010-07-13 00:00:00 Gary R Borowski While there are things about the book I don't care for - dry writing style, lots of side stories about her kids that I didn't think added anything. Overall, I enjoyed reading the book - great hearing about her work, adventures, luring new minds into the study of the natural world. I love the canopy walkways I've visited (walking through the treetops, taking the time to stop and enjoy the treetops) and so reading about how she has contributed to the creation of these left me in great appreciation of her and others in her field. |
Review # 2 was written on 2008-01-28 00:00:00 Mary Strawbridge This book was interesting, but a little disappointing because it wasn't very eloquent.. or maybe eloquent isn't the word I was looking for. It just wasn't as good as The Wild Trees. It was great to read about the challenges to being a mother and a canopy research scientist. It's really the kind of life that I want to lead and I'm working on making that happen. |
