Review # 1 was written on 2011-12-13 00:00:00 Vicki Tapp It provides decent context on an important figure within American anthropology. It is unsatisfying as an intellectual biography, and does not work as a personal biography. |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-12-16 00:00:00 Jacob Coleman Very good biography of the important and contentious American anthropologist. This book covers his ideas and academic trails extremely well, but falls off slightly in regards to embedding them within his overall life (this context would have been helpful at points). Still, a very worthwhile and important book. |
