Review # 1 was written on 2017-01-09 00:00:00 Marshall Damon Decades ago brave women fought for rights many now take for granted. Within the pages of this book are surprising personalities, unfamiliar struggles, and some very strong women. The historical references are woven into the story in a manner that connects the reader to the past. I connected with Dorthea Lange as we share a love of photography. Thanks to her efforts many of the challenges that female photographers faced in the past have dissipated. Regardless of their financial status each woman featured here followed their heart and pursued their passion in the face of adversity. This was an interesting read. |
Review # 2 was written on 2014-12-17 00:00:00 Brian Brandon The selection of women for the contents was good but the book lacked depth and superficial. Nice summary about the women but the ones I knew about were much more complex than the author could cover in this small book. |
