Review # 1 was written on 2014-07-06 00:00:00 Jeff Hans Imagine a sovereign God who wants us to be every bit as free as He is! This book delves into freedom in a unique way. The author explores freedom as our birthright as sons and daughters of God. The book describes radical freedom as our natural state, and then goes on to describe how and why we received this precious gift from God, how we lose it, and how we can regain it. The writing style is direct and straightforward, and the author includes interesting anecdotes to illustrate his points, and even throws in a dash of humor here and there, a rare thing in a book that takes on a weighty spiritual topic. Each chapter concludes with a brief selection from Scripture that highlights an important aspect of freedom. The book was so interesting and easy to read that I blasted right through it, but I think it is a rich text that will be worth rereading. I had previously heard Father Dave Pivonka speak at some retreats. He is a powerful speaker, and I was pleased to discover that his gift carries over to his writing as well.

Review # 2 was written on 2018-12-09 00:00:00 Robert Wheeler I read this book to my father who has Alzheimer's and is confined to a wheelchair. It would probably be more impactful if I had read it myself over a shorter period of time. I was looking for books to read to him that would bring him peace. I'm not sure I ever really got the idea of being "free".
