Review # 1 was written on 2011-06-20 00:00:00 Jeffry Kang This book is actually an excellent unintentional critique of Yeats' philosophy and connections with the esoteric teachings of the Golden Dawn. By quoting letters Yeats wrote about the "damned generation" of poets Eliot would be influenced by, Schuchard offers a very valuable glimpse into Yeats' understanding of the two opposing poetic attempts at enlightenment: the poet-mystic and the poet-mage.

Review # 2 was written on 2015-03-28 00:00:00 Harvey Singer My metaphysical understanding lacking somewhat, I felt this book was a lot of academic twaddle. I cannot recommend it. Eliot's Dark Angel may have killed any chance for me to enjoy TS Eliot and his poetry.
