Review # 1 was written on 2013-05-15 00:00:00 THEOPHILUS JACKSON Not quite sure whether to call this an art book -- it has beautiful photographs of Venice's buildings, statues, and other art. Within a framework of describing international efforts to preserve these things, it gives good background on Venice's history. The author is a historian who has lived in Europe & Venice for much of his life.

Review # 2 was written on 2014-12-22 00:00:00 Mark German nice picture book. Tons of views that are unorthodox so gives a wider view. Focuses also on original context, so essential for getting a sense of place . . . A drawback is that half the pictures at least are black and white and half do not exceed 2"x2" in size.
