Review # 1 was written on 2014-05-04 00:00:00 Marte Eyre The name Bill Harry is well known to Beatle fans and this rare book would be a welcome addition to your Beatles bookshelf. The full title is Beatlemania, an illustrated filmography: the history of The Beatles on film (whew!) It's not a complete history as it was published in 1984 but Harry does well to chronicle the Beatles film activity from A Hard Day's night to the solo work of the early 80s. It's an easy to read reference book that tackles their work as actors, producers, musicians etc as well as TV appearances, trailers, films about The Beatles, television specials and everything in between. It even includes film projects that were planned but never eventuated. A good one for historians and completists. |
