Review # 1 was written on 2013-04-08 00:00:00 Christopher Destefano True to its reputation, The Taste of Wine surely is the father figure authority on oenology. Avant garde for its time, the writing style is dated and, in my humble opinion, less conducive to learning about wine. The book is academic by today's standards and where the science is evident, the art was lacking. This book is not one for those starting out. Without a moderate grasp of concepts, readers may find themselves quickly disinterested or lost. For the initiated oenophile, consider reading this as more of a right of passage. |
