Review # 1 was written on 2018-12-13 00:00:00 Grant Kendall His account of these events is generally considered accurate but his biases were too obvious to make this an entirely enjoyable read. Also, writing in the early thirties, Cole was probably too close to view events and people as objectively as one would like. Also, the passing of time and subsequent events often puts people and events in a different light. Marsden's and Carpenter's works are, in my view, far better treatments of these events. |
