Review # 1 was written on 2014-01-22 00:00:00 Wouter Cortebeeck It took me a long time to get through this book. Guess I'm one of those people who can't sit still. In places, the author just seems to belabor the obvious. However, he offers lots of good ideas in this book about many different ways to pray. He includes sections on things like labyrinths and rosaries, prayer walking, journaling, praying through art and music, and even how to use online websites to facilitate prayer. I could see this book being very useful to religious educators and worship leaders working with both children and adults, and I may try some of his suggestions. |
Review # 2 was written on 2012-01-28 00:00:00 Paul Zahodnik Many good ideas for my kids and myself. Not a fan of the last technology section though. Using "online church services" as an alternative to going to church because of "boring sermons" might eliminate mind wandering and such, but you won't get fellowship that way (no chat room can make up for face to face contact)! |
