This would be an easy yet informative read for Elementary aged children. This book would be ideal for an introduction to the French and Indian Wars and the American Revolution War. It goes in chronological order and states the dates which will help children create a timeline of the events to understand Paul Revere's life and all of the occurrences of the wars. 7 of the illustrations show guns and death, but they are not gory illustrations and would be suitable for kids. In the back of the book is a helpful timeline of all the important dates mentioned in the book.

This picture book states the life of a man named Paul Revere. He was one of nine children and grew up with his family in Colonial Boston. When Paul was thirteen he left school to work in his father's silversmith shop, but when his dad passed away Paul must take over the business and support his mother and siblings at only nineteen years old. The friendly illustrations help young readers see the life of an American patriot. Paul Revere fought in minor battles in the Massachusetts regiment, was involved in politics, participated in the Boston Tea Party, and rode to Lexington, Massachusetts to deliver the news that the British were coming. This is a good biography that can be used as a reliable source for children learning history.
