Review # 1 was written on 2016-03-30 00:00:00 Christian Guyard This book was nearly impenetrable. Granted, I feel like all of my attempts to read philosophy have floundered. So much classical philosophy reads like men with too much free time finding new ways to overcomplicate reality. Maybe that's all it is! But I will say Nagel's "what does it all mean" was very accessible, even if somewhat simplified. I don't know. I want to retain this subject-matter but Benesch's presentation just didn't do it for me. I am not saying there isn't good or insightful material here, I just don't know how to stay awake long enough to absorb it. |
