I only read the Sharon Pollock play Man Out of Joint, as I have a reading package version for my Canlit class. I have to say it was pretty good. MOJ is very raw and honest, not holding much back at all. It's about a young Canadian man being held at Guantanamo and the tortures and abuse suffered by the "terrorists" held there. The main character, Joel/Joe, is the lawyer of a man being extradited to the states one who is going to end up in the prison. Joel's also dealing with some serious personal problems. MOJ is definitely not a feel good play; it's highly political and full of horrifying imagery.

I've never read a play collection before where each play was actually great. What a pleasant surprise!
