Review # 1 was written on 2020-11-15 00:00:00 Natanel Philosophe How did the US get where it went? Follow Patience Gromes’ life to see and you’ll find so much more. Scott C. Davis has made real in words the feats accomplished by the few for the many to come. Despite what may have followed, this is an important path to know. The actions that took Mr. Davis where he witnessed what he came to tell are as laudable as the product of his follow-through. Masterful research related so simply and eloquently. Help this work come to be appreciated. This book should be made a part of every school curriculum, each city and county council’s required reading. Send it to your Mayor, your teacher, your neighbor. Have a book club? On your list. Add it in as many places as recommendations are accepted. Thank you Scott C. Davis, thank you. |
Review # 2 was written on 2021-05-03 00:00:00 Paula Weinacht Always remember Fulton Interesting local history for a Richmonder. The narrative describes the origin of first generation Fulton settlers and how they came by their value system. That contrasted with some later generation Black people who were influenced in a different direction by urban renewal and related changes. I believe the Fulton of Patience Gromes may be what is referred to in a local NPR affiliate ad ... Always remember Fulton. |
