This biography of Teedyuscung, a Delaware Indian representative, not only touches on biographical data but also reveals motivations behind Teedyuscung's diplomatic actions. It is full of background information about the Delaware Indians as well as the tenuous relationships created between this group and French and English settlers. Wallace is a witty writer and the book as a whole is very enjoyable.

I just loved this book about the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A mixture of history, geology, and bits and pieces about ecology. It was wonderful. I felt transported back in time. The author is a little quirky at times, but witty, thoughtful and funny as well. I'd love to meet him! His photographs throughout the books help create the pictures in your mind of times and places.
