Review # 1 was written on 2021-05-17 00:00:00 Ronald Dodson "Today is my favorite day of Kwanzaa. Tonight will be our feast! And I will be the one to light the candles and tell what Kuumba means to me." With the luminescent and beautiful illustrations by Floyd Cooper, you can't go wrong. This book is very text-heavy but provides a comprehensive introduction to the holiday of Kwanzaa. |
Review # 2 was written on 2011-07-20 00:00:00 Edwin M Ortez A wonderful multicultural celebration of Kwanzaa and the power of kindness. It is the night sixth night of Kwanzaa; the night of the feast. Imani is privileged to light the symbolic candles; she is excited, but anxious because of the unwanted visitor. The story is a look into a night of kindness and friendship within a sacred time of celebration. I enjoyed learning more about the holiday of Kwanzaa and being inspired by the kindness of young Imani. A wonderful book to share and discuss with children. |
