Review # 2 was written on 2012-11-28 00:00:00 Kitty Hopkins A Christmas book that tells the story and meaning of Christmas! I really enjoyed this book and appreciated that it was a book that wasn't afraid to offend the audience. There was a specific intent for the writing of the book and the author stuck to it. This story was the history behind Jesus' birth. From the shepherds to the soldier, it discusses the interactions that took place. I loved the illustrations and the texture on the pages. For example, the illustration with the horse and solider had texture on the horse like hair. There were gold strips of hair in the horse's hair to add color. This thought and detail went into every illustration adding to my appreciation. I would definitely recommend this story to others as there was a good amount of text to illustrations and keeps the reader actively engaged the entire time.
