Review # 1 was written on 2019-02-28 00:00:00 Michel Cyr This collection of smoothie recipes has been on my "cookbook" shelf since it was first published, and has provided some wonderful moments of (healthy!) indulgence. It is divided into four main sections, including: basic smoothies ("wholesome mergers"), vegan recipes ("no-moo blends"), sweet treats ("decadent medleys"), and cocktails ("drunken concoctions"). Also included is an extensive glossary of fruit. Some of my absolute favorites are: smoothie classico (OJ, strawberries, bananas), dangerously red (Cranberry juice, strawberries, raspberries), and the black beauty (vanilla yogurt, grape juice, blueberries, blackberries). A fun little book, but be sure to have an industrial strength blender that can handle ice. |
Review # 2 was written on 2011-11-27 00:00:00 Harold Phipps A lot of the recipes have very few ingredients so this is a fast read. Lots of cool pics that had me wishing it was summer so I could run out for a watermelon tomorrow. :) There's a chapter with alcoholic ingredients for those of you who like to taste the hootch. There's also a nutritional analysis in the back. |
