Review # 1 was written on 2015-08-31 00:00:00 Maurice Mambro A while back I got interested in animation as a step up from doing poorly done comics to poorly done cartoons. One of my set backs was there was no real inspiration. This book how ever is making me want to start doing it again if it weren't for the hours it takes to make a 30 second clip of what ever it is I'm animating. Over all i think this is a grait book to read if you are interested in animation and get a view on how it plays out through the eyes of a professional cartoon designer and animater. |
Review # 2 was written on 2013-03-30 00:00:00 Ken Sand The most interesting and insightful parts of this collection of Japanese filmmakers comes in the interviews with them. The rest is a thrown together summarization of some important works with not much else to say about the directors or works themselves. Still worth the read if you're wanting to know more about one of the directors featured or state of genre films in the 60s/70s in Japan |
