Review # 1 was written on 2013-06-03 00:00:00 Daniel Molenbeek I picked this up at a library book sale because it was buy as many books as you can fit in a bag, and I had room. I don't really see me writing a romance, but I'm always curious about craft books and genre writing. This book is so dated that some of it is kind of hilarious because it's just not true anymore and hard to believe it ever was. However, the no BS approach to writing is pretty good. I love how she distills it down to a vocation and basically says, "I just explained how to do it so quit bitching and just write your story." Apparently back in 1984, some agents were charging reading fees, which is totally taboo now. She was in favour of it and I bet the agents wading through today's slush piles wish it had caught on!
