Review # 1 was written on 2014-08-29 00:00:00 Stefania Furuli Great (if slightly dated) guide to the literary history of the South, and the physical places tied to them. I discovered some great authors and novels to add to my always growing too-read list, and found history-filled travel destinations to visit in the future. A great read for someone that is looking to find out more about Southern authors, and the literary history of cities in the South. Definitely gave me the itch to start writing again! |
Review # 2 was written on 2011-08-20 00:00:00 Alexandre Benson This is a well-researched tour guide for fans of southern literature who want to see some sites from their favorite books. I was wondering what kind of Gone With the Wind and To Kill a Mockingbird sites I could go visit while we live here (in the Florida panhandle), and this book answered my questions. I hadn't heard of (or am not interested in) many of the authors mentioned in the book, but I still enjoyed reading all about what there is to see in the south. |
