Review # 1 was written on 2017-05-30 00:00:00 Deborah Nicholas Notes from thesis: Denzin is cool. His notes on autoethnography and writing style are easy to understand. Autoethnography allows the author to be present both as ethnographer and participant (Denzin, 1997). Autoethnography turns "the ethnographic gaze inward on the self (auto), while maintaining the outward gaze of ethnography," therefore "looking at the larger context wherein self experiences occur" (Denzin, 1997, p. 227). It brings about the possibility to come up with different ways of understanding and meaning-making, ways that are neither linear nor reductive, but open to speak from particular insight (Denzin, 1997). The self is performed through "critical interpretive inquiry" as a "systematic sociological introspection" (Denzin, 2013, p. 126). This method of research provides the chance to visit lived moments, not only to tell the past differently, but to also experience the past differently (Denzin, 2013).

Review # 2 was written on 2015-06-12 00:00:00 Kimberly Roberge متروی پاریس. فکر می‌کنم هرکتابی که راجع این دو کلمه، با هم یا بی‌هم، ببینم، در نگاه اول بخوام بخونم‌ش. مترو جایی که باندهای کوتاه مدت بین مردم شکل می‌گیره، مسیرها و داستان‌ها مختلف پیش میاد، میشه زنجیر تخیل رو ول کرد یا آویزون کرد به دیگران تا اون رو با خودشون ببرن، نظم مبهمی در شلوغی/خلوتی ساعت‌های مختلف شبانه‌روز و روزهای هفته رو می‌بینیم، تاریکی شیشه‌ها موقعی که توی تونل هستیم، قطارهایی که صبح از فرودگاه حرکت می‌کنن و همونطور که کم‌کم خط رو که پایین (یا بالا و.. ، گیر قراردادهای جغرافیایی نباشیم) میان پر می‌شن، دست‌فروش‌ها، سنگینی فضای زیرِزمین، ترس سوار شدن اشتباه، دویدن (اشتباه و خطرناک) توی راه‌پله‌ها، شرط‌بندی کوچیکی که ‹آیا قطار جلوی پای من باز می‌شه؟›، تصور پریدن روی ریل، کش اومدن مسیر و القای حس نرسیدن و ... کتاب سخت‌خوانی بود. مخصوصا برای مخاطبی که یک شیشه‌ی قطور و مات فرهنگی بهش اجازه نمی‌ده اون‌طور که دل‌ش می‌خواد ببینه؛ تفاوت‌های زیاد (از شکل شبکه، قدمت، ایستگاه‌ها بگیر تا به متکدیان، نوازنده‌های مترو، تبلیغات در و دیوار و ..)، استعاره‌ها غیرملموس و ادبیات متفاوت. تا جایی که کتاب رو حداقل دو مرتبه خوندم تا بفهمم از چه چیزی صحبت می‌کنه، اما باز هم گاها ناموفق بودم اما حسرت می‌خورم که کاش می‌تونستم کتاب رو بفهمم.
