Review # 1 was written on 2020-05-04 00:00:00 Timothy Lanning Obviously incredibly well researched and thought through. Case studies of subversive spectacular performance in the 19th century on both sides of the Anglophone Atlantic. It clocks in at 476 pages, so it can be a slog at times, but I definitely learned about an aspect of American culture that hadn't previously been squarely on my radar. Thumbs up (for those folks who have an interest).

Review # 2 was written on 2020-12-15 00:00:00 Daniel Hubert This is a dense but so important text about Black theatre makers and visionaries. You need this if you are looking for a beautiful, caring methodology for describing art, people, and lives all in one go.
