Review # 1 was written on 2013-09-02 00:00:00 arthur owyoung A really interesting book on architecture (and style) of the 1950's (and early sixties). Beautifully published by Phaidon. The photographs show modern houses all over the world. Some of the more interesting, by Scandinavian designers, are still in Los Angeles. There is a primary airport in Washington D.C. that still seems modern due to it's lack of attention to pedestrian needs and more to form.

Review # 2 was written on 2014-05-25 00:00:00 YUTAKA NAGASAKI Look, I hate sprawl (and most things in general) as much as the next person, so when I heard the author interviewed on NPR I was interested in reading about it. I was like 220 pages interested, not almost 500 pages interested. We're not talking about WW2 here. Plus, the author is just so blatantly "anti" that he just sucks the fun out of reading it. Its all one long diatribe that might have worked in a shorter book.
