Review # 1 was written on 2021-01-11 00:00:00 Stephen Helgren This is an excellent book for someone looking at how Missional Theology and Traditional Liturgy can meet. Missional Theology is often associated with Free Churches but is seeing spread in the Mainline, more liturgically-minded churches like my own UMC. As an advocate for Missional Theology I commend this book to those who seek to add elements of the traditional Ordo to their Missional communities. |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-01-21 00:00:00 David Rauen Short review: This is the only book I know of that is particularly about leading prayer in a small group/community group setting. Very practical in its orientation. He uses lots of prayers as examples of both positive and negative ways to approach prayer in a small group setting. Basic idea is that setting matters and that the prayers that you pray alone or in a large group setting are not the prayers you should be praying in a small group setting.
