Review # 1 was written on 2012-12-08 00:00:00 No Raz Rosalie Goodman's father is fighting in the Civil War, and the family has not heard from him in a few months. Rosalie is disheartened to learn that the family must sell their horse to pay their mortgage. She is only 10-years old, but she is determined to find a way to save both the farm and the horse. This book is a 4th-grade reading level (recommended ages 8-14), but even older students would enjoy reading it. The illustrations are well-done.
