Review # 1 was written on 2011-06-23 00:00:00 Norman Nelsen Klimt's amazing, of course, but I have mixed feelings about the Rizzoli Quadrifolio fold-outs--even though I think the intentions are good. Each spread shows smaller versions of the works and then folds out to essentially a four-page square to highlight sections of the works in large detail. These foldouts strike me as a bit fuzzy in the reproduction and the whole thing is like dealing with a cumbersome roadmap. The most frustrating thing is that the key to all of the works is also a foldout, which means you can't fold it out and be looking at the actual works described simultaneously. There's only a two-page text spread on Klimt's life and career.
