Review # 1 was written on 2018-07-20 00:00:00 Shareef Haider John Dickson Carr was the master of the "locked room" mystery and started a trend which continues to the present time. This anthology of 29 short stories, reprinted from the pulps and slicks, represents some of the best of the genre. Although some of the authors are almost unknown there are some real gems hidden in these pages. Granted, there are a few stories in which the solutions to what appear to be impossible crimes are just a bit too fantastic but for the most part, the stories are ingenious and entertaining. A great book to read as a diversion from more serious tomes.
