Review # 1 was written on 2016-01-15 00:00:00 Tracy Kunca Surprisingly comprehensive book about a much-neglected dance band of the 1920s and the radio fanclub culture that sprung up around them. The many excerpts from co-leader Joe Sanders' diary are frequently hilarious and give a good sense of exactly how treacherous it could be to be a touring band in the 1920s, when large portions of America still lacked things like proper roads. |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-01-22 00:00:00 Kip Donlon Convincing This book is a convincing and well-written account of both Jane Fonda’s activities in Vietnam and the history of American treason law and prosecutions. My one reservation is that it gets a little too much into very extended quotes from primary sources. |
