A real disappointment. I've always liked Soltis as a writer (the "Chess to Enjoy" type stuff as well as his instructional books). This one though is very much hampered by a judging system which looks like it was drawn up by some commmittee. In my opinion absence of error does not make for a great game, and calling that Berliner game the top of the heap is just absurd. Perhaps he should've called it "Greatest Chess Games"--then we would've had something a lot more interesting and entertaining to delve into. I would much much rather play over that Fischer-Tal draw than some computerized version of perfection. Any day.
