Review # 1 was written on 2019-02-11 00:00:00 Alfredo Barroga I think I like SS, I'll buy more of her books! This one was about women my age and I loved it that all characters were so real, all problems came as consequences of their characters, it was exciting and intriguing and nicely slow at the same time. A bit much of the woman-woman romance (not very likely that 2 out of 4 girls would be lesbian in any given circle...), but the whole book was so good on the whole, I didn't mind so much. I'll definitely re-read! --- "It's OK, Ma. Ruth wouldn't let anything or anyone get to her twin brother. They're practically incestuous." "What do you know about incest, for God's sake?" Review # 2 was written on 2021-09-26 00:00:00 Heidi Piette Storms or silver linings? Sallis brings us an entertaining story with characters from youngsters to senior citizens. The reunion of five women who worked together years ago now involves the children and other relationships as they search for Maisie who has gone missing. Lots of twists and turns, some dark moments and in the end, new insights for all.
