Each chapter in this book describes a children’s book (for example, Little Women, Make Way For Ducklings, Pollyanna, Mary Poppins, Charlotte’s Web and more), and then talks about the example of a mentor which is in each one. The author draws spiritual connections and shows us how we can see Biblical truth in these stories, whether they were written to reflect God or not. There are three sections: Children as Mentors, Friends as Mentors, and Elders as Mentors. I’ve read almost all the books she mentioned but in the vast majority of them, I did not see what she drew out. I loved her focus on the personalities in the books and how we can learn from them how to relate to and learn from others. This was a great read.

I continue to wear out the pages of this wonderful book. What an inspirational way of reviewing the classic tales we've all come to love... seeing the world the way a child does! I own this beautiful little book, with wonderful graphics in color that help us to understand the stories and apply them to our own lives. That is what the Lord did in the parables! I would highly recommend it for all readers no matter the age. I suggest it for your bookcase or coffee table. BJ Riordan
