This was a really sweet book. I loved the relationship between Maggie and Randy. It was so sad when Randy died. Maggie was sad when her son die as well. in the end, she did makes some friends that's helped her through her hard times. I liked how the book went through Maggie life right up to her become old and her death. Randy was such a good man, and I didn't get why some people didn't think that Maggie should marry him. I loved this book a lot, so it gets 5 stars from me.

McCord, M. (1996). Rattlebang. Colorado: Chariot Victor Publishing. This is the parable of the good Samaritan with an old, rusted truck as the main character. Rattlebang, the rusted truck is kind to all and has many friends. However, a new convertible, Ruddle, is unable to look past the rust and see Rattlebang's compassion. Also, because of his newness, Rundle is not nice to anyone. He zooms by everyone who is not new, flashy, or shiny. This book was written for young children from 2-6 years of age- especially boys who love cars and trucks. The cars and trucks are given the personalities of humans with the pink car representing a girl and the primary colors representing "boy" cars. The pictures are bold and bright, on shiny paper. My son's favorite book as a child. By his request, I read it to him last weekend. He's 17! It brought back great memories.
