Review # 1 was written on 2008-01-17 00:00:00 Fire Stick Morton Bustard's description of Joseph, the husband of Mary, sitting on the sidelines, but just as involved in the whole birth and life of Jesus is awe-inspiring. See my review of this book on Amazon.com. |
Review # 2 was written on 2014-02-24 00:00:00 Nathan Carz The question of how to deal with the Christian right is an important one, as is the question of whether religion is inherently a problem or if it just seems that way because the ones we're exposed to were designed as tools for power building. I used to be more of the opinion that religion is a horrible way to unify and educate people but after years of studying primitive groups and developing a better understanding of what our modern scientific approach requires in order to prove what's "true", I feel that we really do need a more "ignorance-based" or humble approach to explaining things. I still don't agree with trying to make Christianity work but I can at least understand why people like Robert Jensen are trying. Whether you agree with him or not this one really makes you think. |
