Brief biographies of fourteen obscure Texans. My major problem with the book, as evidenced by the bibliography, is that the author relied wholely on secondary sources, even the online encyclopedia Wikipedia. As a history major, I would like to have seen mostly primary sources. The work had potential that it did not achieve due the the selected sources.

I liked learning the reality behind who the Sundance kid really was and what he did and didn't do. It surprised me how trumped up his charges often were, how he often got charged for robberies taking place across the nation from where he currently was and the law couldn't prove it one way or the other. I loved learning about what a hard worker he was when honestly employed.
