Haywood correctly points out that a company's reputation is ultimately the responsibility of the chair, CEO, and board. Yet he repeats time and again that the "public relations" function should play a central role, too. Too bad he ignores other critical functions like government relations and investor relations, both of which also need to interact with the public and, therefore, have a stake in the firm's reputation. Good advice is plentiful, though the author would have benefited from an editor capable of avoiding excessive repetition.
