Review # 1 was written on 2019-04-27 00:00:00 Peter Mason This collection of essays offers a geographic perspective on Latin American society. Topics covered include urbanization (Latin America is the most urbanized region of the world), U.S./Mexico borderlands, tourism & ecotourism, drug geographies (specifically cocaine), and destruction of tropical rainforests. I recommend this book as an unbiased source of information on current issues in Latin America. |
Review # 2 was written on 2011-04-15 00:00:00 Randy Wilcox A detailed journalist's take on Suharto's New Order. I would imagine that individuals with interest in Indonesian history would appreciate this work, especially the numerous passages where Schwarz presents and analyzes competing explanations for opaque developments. However readers without prior context or interest might find this a bit dry. |
