Part of the Science Library reference for children, this informative book introduces young space explorers to the sun, the moon, planets, stars, and much, much more as it helps readers understand how rockets get into space, what makes up the solar system, and why stars shine. Text, photographs, diagrams, and illustrations, supported by a glossary and web links, combine to answer basic space questions and engage the young space explorer's imagination. Highly recommended.

Friendly, indeed! This book tells about stars, constellation by constellation. There is a large fold-out star map glued in the back.
