I remember that my school librarian gave me the uncorrected copy she was sent in the 5th grade because I did good on my writing assessment! It hadn't been published and it still smelled like ink. I read it in no time and liked that it was a book about a girl that wasn't swiming in money for once. It was something I could relate to, even though I was young.
