Disappointing. Such an incredible premise and description that was not at all lived up to. No answers were given at the end and it left so much of it ambiguous that I just kind of threw up my arms at the end. So the boy from the troubled family killed the children why? And blamed the weird man why? And the priest didn't tell because why? He was jealous, the man embarrassed him, the priest banged a married woman? And then his wife got sick somehow and then she died somehow so what like I don't understand? And I'm not impressed. Sorry I spent a dollar on this.

Of all the tie-ins for the Blair Witch Project, this is by far the best. Including engaging characters, and a mystery of the past which ties into the present, the book's most notable feature to me as the sense that reality was warping and changing around the protagonists. Call it an unreliable narrator, or something far more sinister, its done very effectively. I would say that this work actually stands on its own two feet, becoming a very good novel in its own right, and not simply a tie-in piece of media.
