Maybe because it's written for clinicians, it is very verbose and seems not to intend for the people who actually do the risk stratification themselves. I am still confused by the goal and the common practice of risk stratification.

As someone who lives with mental health (bipolar, ptsd, anxiety) who is also a consumer advisor and works in policy I found this book to be a very interesting read. I have read a few books that challenge big pharmaceutical and the main discorse in mental health but they have tended to be based on personal experience or get dismissed as conspiracy based. This book is well researched and includes quotes from the FDA, the pharmaceutical companies and notable psychiatrists, some who have been recognized by the APA While I was aware that the chemical imbalance theory had been disproven I was not aware how far big pharmaceutical are still pushing it. I was also aware of the "black box warnings" and some of the risks associate with medication but the extent that big pharmaceutical has gone to hide this is unbelievable.
