Review # 1 was written on 2014-07-22 00:00:00 Anca Joe The author strolls along the busy streets of downtown Newark while meditating upon God's presence and St. Benedict's rule for life. These essays give us the feel of the area and take us on a meditative journey that sometimes reveals new thoughts, but often reinforces what we already know if we are thoughtful Christians. Definitely worthwhile and I'm glad I read it because Holtz's continual reference to mastery versus intimacy is a much needed message for my own life. Also, I will never forget his sumac tree meditation (sounds hokey, I know, but was quite good). |
Review # 2 was written on 2012-08-22 00:00:00 Jason Spiegel I used this in morning meditation- very nice reflections (2-3 pages) with reflection questions tied to scripture. |
