Review # 1 was written on 2021-02-15 00:00:00 Stephan Matthies I listened to the audio book and I believe the authors should have hired professional narrators. This book is good with some good ideas especially for new people starting with negotiations. Some ideas are tried and true and some are hokey. I recommend this book for those wanting to learn about negotiating strategies and how to use them and combat them.

Review # 2 was written on 2012-11-15 00:00:00 Peter Wood You probably already know and employ many of the 101 negotiating techniques and just don't have a name for them. The best part about bringing such techniques to your conscious awareness is that you can use them deliberately and to your advantage. I like that with each tactic the authors explain how to counter it if it's used against you. Though most of the examples are in a business context I found the techniques adaptable to my own field in mental health. I feel more confident having some tools to negotiate whereas before reading this book I avoided business confrontations and took the initial offer. Recommended for anyone who is uncomfortable with negotiating and looking for a confidence boost and new tools to add to your belt.
